MobileAccessVE FAQs
- Does MobileAccessVE share bandwidth with the customer's IT LAN?
No. MobileAccessVE delivers cellular services using Intermediate Frequencies (IF) over standard Ethernet structured cabling. This IF signal is of a different frequency than the Ethernet LAN traffic (0 to 100 MHz) and since this is separated from Ethernet in the analog domain, it does not interact or use any of the digital bandwidth or spectrum in use by the IT LAN. Hence, MobileAccessVE network elements are fully transparent to the IT LAN and when one network is down, it does not affect the other.
- How does MobileAccessVE fit into Cisco's portfolio?
Cisco borderless network solutions include a portfolio of wired and Wi-Fi solutions that solve a variety of customer problems and enable seamless coverage and industry-leading performance. MobileAccessVE is the perfect extension of the Cisco portfolio as the solution offers pervasive cellular coverage for mobile phones, netbooks and even 4G cellular-enabled devices. Customers can take advantage of newly available technologies such as AWS, LTE, and WiMAX, by extending cellular coverage into the enterprise.
- Is MobileAccessVE compatible with any Cisco products?
